Why Renting an E-Bike Changes Everything on Hilton Head
March 31, 2026Any excuse to get out and ride through the Lowcountry is a good one, but this annual event gives you an even better reason to hop on a bike. Pedal Hilton Head Island returns for its 19th year, bringing together riders of all ages and skill levels for a day of scenic cycling and meaningful impact. Best of all, every mile supports the Boys & Girls Club of the Lowcountry, and we’re thrilled to be a Criterium level sponsor in 2026.
Taking place on Sunday, May 3, this one-day charity ride offers a unique way to experience both Hilton Head Island and Bluffton. Participants can choose from a range of route options designed to suit everyone, from the relaxed 2-mile Family Fun and Club Kids Rides to the more ambitious 62-mile Metric Century. Along the way, riders will travel through some of the area’s most beautiful landscapes, including gaining access to private communities that are not open to the public, making the experience feel even more special. Each route is escorted, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable ride from start to finish.
Beyond the scenery, Pedal Hilton Head Island plays an important role in supporting local youth. The event has become a longstanding tradition benefiting the Boys & Girls Club, helping provide programs that encourage academic success and personal growth. After completing their ride, participants are invited to unwind with a post-ride meal and refreshments. It’s a well-earned reward for a day well spent.
As a Criterium sponsor, The Bike Doctor is playing an important role in the ride. We’ll have staffing onsite to assist with bike adjustments and minor fixes. This popular annual event draws participants from near and far, including many experienced riders with high-end equipment, and because bike repairs are our specialty, we’ll be there to help. Bike Doctor team members will also drive some of the chase vehicles along the route to aid bikers with repairs along the way.
Registration is now open, with a variety of ride packages available. Since this is a recreational event rather than a race, it’s designed for everyone — from casual riders to seasoned cyclists. Whether you’re joining with friends, family, or riding solo, it’s an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, connect with the community, and contribute to a meaningful cause.
