Sue Says: A Four-Stop Date Night Itinerary for Hilton Head

If you live here, it’s easy to save the waterfront spots for out-of-town guests and forget they’re just as good for a night out with your own date. With a string of waterfront restaurants and easy walking – or biking – between them, you can build an entire progressive date night without ever getting back in the car.

Here’s a route Sue recommends trying:

Stop 1: Cocktails at Fish Camp

Kick things off with cocktails at Fish Camp on Broad Creek. Grab a seat outside if the weather is nice and enjoy the relaxed waterfront atmosphere as you toast to a fun night ahead.

Stop 2: Dinner at Old Oyster Factory

Next, head to the Old Oyster Factory for another water view and, if you’re not oystered out yet, more to choose from — Rockefeller, Savannah, and chargrilled garlic-parmesan among them (maybe save the garlic-parmesan for date two). The name undersells the menu, though: alongside the seafood you’ll find plenty of options from land, including filet mignon and cabernet-braised short rib.

Stop 3: Dessert or Drinks

Close out the evening with something sweet at Kilwins in Shelter Cove Towne Centre — ice cream, chocolate, or handmade fudge all work. Then take your time walking the marina under the stars before calling it a night.

OR stop by Lincoln & South Brewing Company for a nightcap and live music. It’s a fun, laid-back place to relax and spend a little more time together before calling it a night.

Spending the Evening in Sea Pines?

If you’re planning a date night in Sea Pines, Coast and the Quarterdeck make a perfect pairing.

Start with cocktails at Coast, a waterfront favorite that landed on Southern Living’s Top 10 Beach Bars list. Depending on when you arrive, you might catch live music. The bar team, including Kristin, Amy, Bernardo and Liz, knows its way around a good cocktail list. A Hibiscus Harmony or Bloody Orange Honey Bee is a solid way to start the night.

Next, make your way to the Quarterdeck at Harbour Town for sunset. Try to snag a seat facing the Harbour Town Lighthouse. Order a glass of wine or an aperitif, pair it with crab dip or a dozen oysters and watch the sky change color over the water.
