We are very excited about the upcoming opening of our second location located on New Orleans Road on the south end of Hilton Head Island. The new location will provide all the same great services as our north end store on Mathews Drive including new bike sales, repairs on all makes and models, as well as bicycle rentals! The ever popular Bike Doctor group rides will leave from the Mathews Drive shop every Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm. Everyone is welcome! The ride is about a 20 mile loop around the island and is a favorite for some of the most competitive riders in the area.

Alright all you road bike junkies, it’s time to get out of the winter funk and get riding! We are all excited for the upcoming daylight saving time to shine some late afternoon light on us! So get your riding gear out and meet us here at The Bike Doctor, 6pm every Tuesday and Thursday. Also, we now supply Red Bull to help you motor over the cross island bridge!!!

We are so proud of our great friends Nick Felix and Peter West for competing in the ultimate challenge of an Ironman! The event saw 1,731 athletes officially start the 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike and 26.2-mile run on the Big Island of Hawaii. Kevin Purvis, another Bike Doctor groupie, was there to capture all the action and cheer on Nick and Peter. Here are some great photos of all the action! Chris Butler started his bicycling dreams right here at The Bike Doctor. Now Hilton Head’s own cycling master has moved on to show his talents for Furman’s team. The DII men’s race was action packed to the finish with Ben Showman of the United States Military Academy attacking solo with around 20-kilometers to go. A chase group including Chris Butler (Furman University), Craig Leukens (Yale University), Zak Grabowski (Colorado School of Mines) and Austin Roach (Princeton University) soon pursued with force. Grabowski hammered it on a descent and the group quickly closed in on Showman who once had a 1:30 gap. The leader was caught in the final kilometers and it was Furman’s Butler winning the sprint to the finish over Leukens of Yale. Grabowski came in only seconds later in third with Showman not far behind.
